THE WESTON A. PRICE FOUNDATION
JOINS GRAZEFEST® CAMPAIGN AS SPONSOR
The first national campaign in support
of pasture-raised and grass-fed foods widens its reach.
July 5, 2006; Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania…
Eating Fresh Publications is pleased to announce the participation
of the Weston
A. Price Foundation (WPF) as a national sponsor of GRAZEFEST®:
A National Campaign to Raise Awareness of Grass-Fed and
Pasture-Raised Foods from America’s Small Farms.
Conceived by Eating Fresh Publications
and launched in September 2004, GRAZEFEST® connects
consumers with grass-fed and pasture-raised foods through
events organized by farmers markets, nonprofit organizations,
and community groups throughout the country. The events
offer opportunities for consumers, home cooks, and professional
chefs to experience meats and dairy products from animals
raised on pasture and to learn more about the health, environmental,
wildlife, and animal- and human-welfare benefits of pasture-based
farming.
“We are delighted to align our mission
with that of the Weston A. Price Foundation, which has long
advocated for better health through sensible food choices,”
said Wendy Rickard of Eating Fresh Publications. “The
organization has a loyal following and a distinguished track
record of providing clear and coherent information about
nutrient-rich diets. Their participation in GRAZEFEST®
will help us bring the message to many more consumers who
are interested in improving their health through better
farming and ranching practices.”
“The Weston A. Price Foundation
is thrilled to support the very important work of GRAZEFEST,”
said WPF executive director Bill Sanda. “We are equally
delighted to align with other GRAZEFEST sponsors, believing
that like-minded organizations enhance their effectiveness
through such collaborations. Our mission is to ensure that
effective information about nutrition be spread as far and
as wide as possible. This collaboration will support that
objective.”
The Weston A. Price Foundation is a nonprofit
food and nutrition organization dedicated to restoring nutrient-dense
foods to our diet through education, research, and activism.
The organization supports accurate nutrition education,
organic and biodynamic farming, pasture feeding of livestock,
community-supported farms, honest and informative labeling,
prepared parenting, and nurturing therapies. WPF stands
united in the belief that modern technology should be harnessed
as a servant to the wise and nurturing traditions of our
ancestors and that science and knowledge can validate those
traditions. They publish a quarterly journal, Wise Traditions
in Food, Farming, and the Healing Arts.
The Weston A. Price Foundation joins Eating
Fresh; GRACE
(the Global Resource Action Center for the Environment),
developers of the Meatrix, The
Meatrix II, and the Sustainable
Table Project; and the EatWell
Guides as sponsors of GRAZEFEST®. For more information

GRAZEFEST®
events are held primarily from March through November
at farmers markets and other venues throughout the country.
